The Author

So who am I? I guess I'll start with my pen name, J.B. Florence. Not that it matters to me if I used my first name, I just use my initials for stories. If I make it big, it'll be easier when signing books. Anyway, I'm a college students with an interest in computer science and game design, but I write stories in my spare time. Aside from my main novel and The Tide of Dreams, I have ideas swimming around in my head for other stories to write, so don't be suprised with something new pops up.

The Story

The story itself has a weird background. I was sitting around thinking of a weapon combination for a pair of characters in my main novel (who have since been scrapped), and one of them was a shield. The other became a sword, and the two would combine into one weapon. So the idea, and a small sketch, sat in my notebook as I went off to anime club, where, on that particular day, we watched Paprika, a really trippy movie involving dreams and brain waves and effects of dreams on the real world. That's when it hit me. I had essentially created the Dream Weaver and Dream Crusher, then added the Dream Seeker to the mix. Add in the three weapon wielders, the Dream Master, and a parallel world powered by dreams, and I had the foundation for The Tide of Dreams.

The Website

So why did I create this site when I have a personal site that I have the stories on to begin with? Well, for one thing, the stories are about three links deep, which can be annoying to go through just to get to the actual files. Second, because the story takes place mostly at night, and I think that a blue/black/purple/white color scheme is more fitting then my main site, which has the "Blood Angel" color scheme of red/black/grey/white. Plus it allow me to add character profiles and images that would have otherwise clogged up my file folders. So that's all really.
